Unconventional
Ben Paulsrud: Backside Tailslide Shuv-it
Ben has more spots than anyone I know, and they’re usually pretty random; making them the best. This upledge was rather unconventional and I think very few people could/would actually skate it. Steep, short, and overall pretty shitty. Ben handled it like a champ (as did James, but I’m saving his photos for something else…wink). I decided to shoot a still of it which was my attempt of keeping up with Ben’s abstract approach to skating, lame I know, anyway the more I look at this photo the more I’m psyched on it. Ben you’re definitely one of my all time favorite people to shoot, let’s skate soon. RSC4L

This was a good time night sesh, Elijah was killing it and he gave me a lot of really good shots. I liked this one the best because of the shadow going across him, and check the way he’s flippin the board, no illusion flips here. Stomped within 10 minutes. Bangin!

Haiti Fundraiser
It’s somewhat last minute but for those of you that don’t know yet, the guys at Upful are putting on a fundraiser tonight for the earthquake victims over in Haiti. All proceeds will go to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. There will be a step and repeat (basically backdrop and red carpet style photo area) which I will be taking photos of people from 8pm-10pm, some cheap drinks, and all of Razor Sharp and then some. So come on out and drink for a cause!!

International Local Flare
Sammy Montano: 50-50
Apparently everyone from other countries is required to kill it on a skateboard.* Sammy’s another local kid that destroys everything in front of him, he’s got a mean bag of tricks and looks good on a skateboard. I’m stacking up mad photos of him and am gonna put something together up here soon, until then here’s just a little teaser. He started trying to 50-50 this when nobody was really paying attention, and i had to rush to set up to get the photo. Thanks for making me stress and keeping this old man on his toes Sammy.
*Editor’s note: So apparently Sammy’s not from another country, he’s from here but just visited and stayed abroad for a bit..I jumped to conclusions..so what he still rips!

Burgs and Dogs
On Saturday Liberty had themselves a little barbecue at the Brea Skatepark. Although I showed up a little late, and basically was only able to be there for an hour and a half or so, it was a damn good time.
